Don Paterson
The California Crooner

Don Paterson was born in San Francisco, and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. His interest in music and performing developed at an early age, thanks to three older siblings who played violin, cello, and guitar, and to his pianist father and dancer mother. Don also studied classical violin, but his interest in singing became apparent when he'd show up for violin lessons and sing for his teacher! Private voice lessons followed, and Don began to develop his repertoire to include standards from the 1920s, '30s, and '40s, songs from musicals, and a range of other popular songs.

After studying Theatre Arts in high school and college, Don's performing experience was gained through years of appearing in both musical and non-musical theatre, mostly in the San Francisco Bay Area, but also in Los Angeles.

In 1999, Don underwent a full-time, intensive Acting training program at the highly regarded Guildford School of Acting, in England, and chose to stay there and pursue his career in Europe. He appeared on the stages of Guildford and London, as well as in the Cambridge Shakespeare Festival, before a career on cruise ships beckoned. It was through his travels onboard that he discovered the beautiful city of Lisbon, Portugal, where he now makes his home.
